What Makes a Story (Prompt1)

A story is made of characters, a setting, and a theme. But that only play a role in making a story. The characters are one of the main things that make up a story. Readers get attached to certain characters. The reader reads the book to see what happens to that character to find out if he/she either lives or dies.  The setting is where the story takes place. It can be a story changer it could affect the way a character live or how the character reacts to things that happens to him/her.  The Theme is what is the main message the author is trying to get through the story. Every single part of a story is what makes up a story. A story needs to have some type of genre; a genre is a type of book. Genres of books are fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, Sci-Fi, etc. Certain types of readers like different types of genres of books. I enjoy reading fiction or Sci-Fi books. They are unique and different from others. You get to get real creative in a fiction book. You can make up anything you want you make the story yours. In every book their have to be some type of conflict and where theirs a conflict their have to be a resolution.  Conflict is another main key in a story; the character has to have some type of problem he/she has to find away to solve. The problem could be so small but it could have a huge impact on the main character’s life.  The reaction of the main character can cause the reader to get attached to the character or be disgusted with the character all together.  The make up of the story or the plot can be a big factor in making a good story. It helps you plan out what happens to what character or how he/she lives their life. Through out all stories the main character grows in some type of way he/she gets wiser throughout the story. He/she either is able to solve the problem they are having or they cant. Every story has a similar make up but what makes a story different is the twist you put on it.

The Family ( Draft 1)

The wind blows against his face and pushes the hood off of his bold head. You couldn’t tell by looking at him but he sees the world different then the rest of then us. The world is more complex then you think, but son you will understand what he means by this.
He is the youngest of all his siblings and his name is Randy. Randy continues to walk home through the windy weather that only slows him down a bit. Randy has been on his own since he was 8, well that’s how he feels. The only thing that he worries about in his life is lost the last people in his family, which are his brothers Berry and Adam. His parents died from a huge explosion right after him and his brother left from home. Randy steps on to his front porch and snatches open the door. Randy steps into the house and slams the door behind him. A large tear rolls down his face as he throws his bag on the floor. Berry comes running down the stairs, he stops when he realizes its Randy.
“What wrong now Randy?” Asked Berry.
“Everything I’m tired of waiting on the right time to do what we came here for, I’m not the patient type so lets get this job over with,” replies Randy.
“You cant rush into this we still don’t have a plan what are we going to do just go right in and get killed?”
